Knowing is half the battle

Things I know…..

The first month of the PGA Tour Season is a snoozefest, the ratings stink and so do the fields. Can’t recognize the player without a program.

Things I think I know…..

The real start of the season is at Torrey Pines or whenever Jim Nantz shows up to announce or Tiger Woods to play, even if its in the Middle East.

Things I want to know…..

When are the professional tours going to do something about pace of play on tour, the pre-shot routines are getting ridiculous and my patience is running thin.

Things I know…..

Tiger Woods and a broomstick would be the marquee pairing at any event, even Pebble Beach, why give Romo another opportunity to choke his guts out in the spotlight? I actually feel bad for the guy, he’s a plus handicap, but I bet he doesn’t sniff breaking 80.

Things I think I know…..

A win before the Masters for Tiger could lead to a big season by current tour standards 2-3 wins and a major, though not his prior life standards of 4-6 wins and a couple of majors, he is going to have to deal with a new reality.

Things I want to know…..

Why does The Pebble Beach Pro-Am Handicap Committe look the other way when it comes to Bill Murray’s handicap? He may be the world’s biggest sand bagger!

 Things I know…..

The Phoenix Open is a great time and a great event for tv and golf. Been there done that and would love to do it again. Great Party!

Things I think I know…..

The quality of golf being played in that enviroment doesn’t  suffer and the players seem to enjoy it.

Things I want to know…..

Why the heck aren’t there more tournaments that have that kind of atmosphere? What could happen? People who don’t play golf might think it’s a fun sport and take it up? Tournament Sponsors will make more money through increased viewership of events like these? Tour purses may increase? Since when do tour players hate playing for more money?

I could go on all day with this, but we will save some for later,

Don’t forget to plan your Spring or Summer Golf Vacation to Myrtle Beach by going to Caledonia Golf Vacations.

One more thing I know.

Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations are FUN!

Cheers,

Bob Seganti, PGA
