St. John’s University men’s golf surged to a five-stroke victory in April at the 2025 Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge hosted at True Blue Golf Club.
The Red Storm bested a field of 17 teams with a 54-hole team total score of 23-under par as Connecticut and Jacksonville State finished second and third, respectively. Frank Wu and David Mlynek paced St. John’s with each player finishing at 7-under, while Jacksonville State’s Ryley Heath (-13) and Ben Shedd (-11) topped the individual leaderboard in the Gamecocks’ pursuit of the team title.
Georgia State (-14), North Alabama (-13), Mercer (-12), Marshall (-9), and Xavier (-7) followed as the only teams to finish the Spring Challenge with team scores under par.
West Georgia, Stephen F. Austin State, Valparaiso, USC Upstate, SIU Edwardsville, Fairleigh Dickinson, Long Island University, Southern Indiana and Kansas City joined the competition to round out the field.
