Strantz Spotlight: Hole No. 7 at True Blue

“The Palisade”

Standing on the tee at the par-3 No. 7 at True Blue Golf Club, a golfer can easily forget they’re in the Lowcountry. Measuring 176 yards from the longest markers, No. 7 at True Blue may not be the absolute longest of par-3 challenges you’ll face, but it is most definitely a bear.

This par 3 features one of the wildest green complexes Mike Strantz was able to create on this golf course. With a very aggressive slide from back to front, this green has two distinct levels separated by an extreme slope that seems as suited for an X-Games skateboard competition as it does for a challenging golf layout.

Some would argue that missing the green completely is better than hitting the green on the wrong level.

One of the most challenging greens you will face is surrounded by waste area on nearly every side, forcing the golfer to find some grass off the tee. A wayward shot short and right will leave you with a near impossible up-and-down proposition.

The green on No. 7 is truly unforgettable, just like the rest of the golf experience at True Blue Golf Club!
