Top Ranked Myrtle Beach Golf Courses And Golfweek Magazine Host Program Challenge Tournament

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C., September 4, 2014–Two of Myrtle Beach’s top ranked golf courses are teaming up with GolfWeek Magazine for the fourth year in a row to kick off the 2014 school season. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club will host the Program Challenge Tournament for men’s and women’sdivision I teams, Sept. 6-9, 2014.

This unique tournament features teams from 12 universities competing for men’s and women’s titles, as well as an overall title determined by each school’s total scores. The men will play at True Blue, while the women will play at Caledonia.

“The golf courses are fantastic,” said Golfweek tournament director Lance Ringler. “They’re something the players talk about all year. I don’t think there’s a better venue in the country for this tournament.”

The 2014 field includes teams from University of Arkon (Arkon, Ohio), Campbell University (Buies Creek, N.C.), Furman University (Greenville, N.C.), Gardner-Webb University (Boiling Springs, N.C.), Houston Baptist University (Houston, Texas.), Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, Ala.), James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Va.), University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, Iowa.), Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Va.), Stetson University (DeLand, Fla.), and Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, Ind.)

“This tournament has become one of the highlights of the year at our courses,” said Bob Seganti, director of golf operations of Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club “We are proud to host these outstanding young golfers and provide them with a one-of-a-kind experience to play with their peers in the ‘golf capitol of the world.’”

Teams will practice at both courses on Saturday followed by 18 holes of competitive golf Sunday through Tuesday.
