True Blue Has Done It Again Helping To Raise Money For The March Of Dimes

The funds raised will help the March of Dimes improve the health of infants and children through various programs including research, community services, education and advocacy.

“The mission of the March of Dimes is to ensure the health of every baby by preventing birth defects, preterm birth and infant mortality,” said, Crystal Hummer, Division Director, Pee Dee Division. “We are thankful for the support we receive from organizations like True Blue, as they are essential in our efforts to fund research, education, community grants and advocacy efforts in South Carolina.”

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. For more than 75 years, moms and babies have benefited from the March of Dimes research, education, vaccines, and breakthroughs.

True Blue began its association with the March of Dimes when PGA head professional Bart Romano’s family was the March of Dimes Ambassador Family. With support from the March of Dimes, Romano’s son, Grayson, who was born prematurely, weighing just over one pound at birth, is now a happy, healthy 5-year-old.

The March of Dime’s is very near and dear to our family,” Nicole and Bart Romano, parents of Grayson, said. “Without the lifesaving drugs the March of Dimes research has created, our son may not be with us today. The steroid shots before Grayson’s birth to help prepare his lungs for life outside of the womb, and the surfactant he received after birth to help to open his airways in the lungs so that he could breathe on his own were all made possible through the March of Dimes efforts. But it wasn’t just life-saving drugs and treatments, it was also the way the March of Dimes supported our family while we were in the NICU. They were always there to provide information, helping us learn more about caring for our tiny preemie.”

“The True Blue family is proud and honored to continue to support an organization that continues to push for much-needed support for children and their families,” said Bob Seganti, PGA director of golf operations for Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Plantation. “The March of Dimes continues to be near and dear to our heart, as it helps so many through difficult times in their lives.”
